8 random things about myself
Stacy tagged me to write 8 random things about myself. Let's see...
1. I am thinking about dying my hair brown this fall.
2. I am in a constant struggle over whether I can see myself with a minivan or not. So far, I can't.
3. Caleb can beat me at Nintendo gamecube games EVERY time.
4. My favorite t.v are the first 20 minutes of chat between Regis and Kelly.
5. We are in the process of designing a house to build.
6. I went on a MOPS retreat and had a night away for the first time in a while.
7. I just read "My Heart, Christ's Home" and highly recommend it.
8. 8 is my favorite number : )

Lovely bruises and scabs on his face for his first day of school, aren't they? That's what happens when Daddy is left with all three kids over night. He was skateboarding on daddy's skateboard and apparently fell on his face. Looks like it hurt. But, I'm proud of Matt. He did pretty well with them despite the bruises. They didn't have any MAJOR injuries so that's good.
Joshie's first day of Preschool!
Joshie did pretty well. He was very excited about the backpack and the fact he got to hold the sign for the picture. He liked walking in to his classroom and hanging up his backpack but as soon as he saw Joey, Caleb and me head for the door the tears started to come. It was very sad.
But, when I came back and got him three hours later he was happily playing with some dinosaurs. The teacher said as soon as he went and got his blanket out of his backpack he did fine. I asked if that was ok to bring, and she said "of course, he's only 3." So, that's good news. If he's got his blanket he'll do just fine. Some of the other kids were starting to lose it by the end of the day but Joshie was doing great. He was excited to tell me about the "Kissing Hand" book they read and show me his first painting. He was assigned to bring the snack that day and told me that the kids said "Thank you Mr. Joshua." Needless to say, he asked if he could bring the snack next time too. When it is their turn to bring snacks they are also the "teacher's helper." He thought that was pretty cool too. I'm not so sure he'll be so thrilled on Wednesday when he has to give over the title. I am so proud of him for making it the full three hours and for having a good day. I must say I was a little worried about how he'd do. But, he surprised us all and did wonderfully! GO JOSHIE!!

Cooling off on a hot day!
Notice by the lack of belly button showing that Grandma was the one to put Joey's trunks on : )
Joshie needs Grandma's help because he's losing his trunks.
Caleb climbed up and was checking out the storm clouds. We thought we'd better get him down because that doesn't look like a good place to be if lightning strikes.
Joshua Bruce and Grandpa Bruce relaxing to a little Dora cartoon before they went up to take a nap ; )

Guitar time!
Joshua sings and plays the guitar. He is singing "Happy Birthday" to me despite the fact it's not my birthday. But, it's still quite adorable.
So sweet!
Caleb's first day of kindergarten went well. He loves school, and looks forward to going as soon as he wakes up. We asked him how his day went, and he said "good". But, he did share a very touching story with us that took place. During snack time, a girl announced that her mom had forgotten to pack her a snack. So, the teacher asked if anyone would be willing to share their snack and Caleb said he rose his hand and was the only child to share his snack with the girl. He didn't know her name, but that's ok. He showed kindness to a stranger, which makes Matt and me very proud. Way to go CALEB!!
